Sunrise or Sunset?

Sunrise... I've never seen a sunrise like this...

Sunset... I've never seen a sunset quite like this either.

Question number 10 in a post the other day was "Sunrise or Sunset?" I chose sunset for a number of reasons, although sunrise does have its own unique merits... promise of a new day and all that sweet stuff. These two images were not exactly what I had in mind when I made my choice, but they do reflect how I would choose.

Sunset to me is the time of quiet reflection... the time to exhale...  the time to shed cares and worries, to let them wash away with the fading light of day. It is the time to breathe in the possibility of dreams ahead and not be weighted down by those that may not come.

The pictures reminded me not so much of France, but of a picture taken by my buddy in Pol-i-Charki. He's an excellent photographer. May I send two pics to you?

Here, south of Oklahoma City, in the Wrinkles, the red clay dust gets kicked up into the sky, making for a rose-coloured sky at sunset. With a panorama, one could take pictures or paint the sky every night and not quite get it.

Dave:
The first photo is in Italy, the second France. And certainly you may send me the pics. You should be able to click on the email link in the sidebar.

Up here, the sunsets are bright to fading blue and if there is a cloudy sky, pale pink, mauve or perhaps lavender, but nothing quite as bright as the second image above.
