Quiet emptiness...

This quiet emptiness that fills my heart screams to be released, but I remain fixed within this quiet emptiness that surrounds me and that scream is forced inward as ever. It is at times like this that I am glad of the way in which I deal with things. I am glad that I do not find release or solace by false means. I am glad that I do not unleash whatever inner turmoil there is within me. I would not wish that upon anyone. The moment passes... I breathe... and move on ... ever motionless.

SG,

Is the emptiness the object? The silence? Or that you've created a metaphysical cofferdam for that scream?

Rhetorical questions, as the answers are none of my business, that arose in consideration of your post.

Or am I being clueless again, and these sorts of things aren't supposed to generate commentary?

Thoughts and commentary welcomed. It took me a while to be willing to share these bits and pieces, so I consider feedback a gift.

How can emptiness fill a void?
How can emptiness be surrounded?
How can emptiness encompass emptiness?

DaveO said...

SG,

The void is without anything. By definition it is not even a vacuum. The emptiness is a thing in and of itself, therefore emptiness can fill a void, just as air fills a ball.

Emptiness has boundaries, and is surrounded by somethingness. It is the value we place on the somethingness that contains the Emptiness and gives it definition.

Emptiness within emptiness is to define the core of emptiness with the concept that somethingness could exist there, but is instead empty.

And thank you. This post is among several I've experienced here that seem more an expression to attain catharsis than plain dialogue.

Dave:
Exactly.
Thank you.

The somethingness became nothingness which begat the emptiness within emptiness.

Hmmm, my brain is registering a distinct lack of cheese pizza to consider further this evening.

You have your chocochip. I have the mighty 'Za.

Hunh. Something to nothing to something that is empty but not nothing which fills the nothing with something.

Need pepperoni, sausage and 'shrooms, stat. :)

Good evening to you, SG.

I see... you understand the Tao of the Hamster.

DaveO said...

SG,

Looked up 'tao of the hamster' and got a bunch of hits on Tao Lin stories about hamsters. I remain clueless. Would you be Holmes to my Watson and fill me in on this case of the Taoist Hamster, please?

Spockgirl said...

Dave:
Ah... you understand without knowing you understand.

I just came up with "The Tao of the Hamster" on the fly, in response to your comments on this post as well as in reference to a post I did called "I am the Hamster".

Picture if you will the life of a hamster given free will and independent thought, confined to the perpetual wheel of life within the cage of emptiness.

So you're saying I should think like a Walmart greeter.

Whoa.

Perhaps I should read your post on hamsters. Bought one once. Store said he'd be a fine pet. SHE gave birth to a litter 24 hours later. My cat was both amused and annoyed.

Spockgirl said...

Dave:
Thanks dude... So you are saying that I think like a Walmart greeter?

DaveO said...

SG,

No, like a hamster. I think like a Wal-mart greeter. Good evening! and Welcome!

Your post on hamstericity still have the wheel turning.

Spockgirl said...

Dave:
Gee... thanks... You just told me I think like a hamster.

I once had the pleasure of serving with members of the 3d RCR in Kabul, out of CFB Pettawawa. They were under the mistaken impression that Canada won the war of 1812.

I've re-entered that twilight zone, haven't I?

You're digging a hole dude. Perhaps you never left? ... The Twilight Zone... that is. (Insert smiley face thing here.)

And... I am unfamiliar with the <> you used in closing. I am not very fond of text-based emoticons, phonetics and abbreviations utilized in conversations. But.. that is just me.

The second rule of holes is to "Build a Bunker."

The "< and the >" was me signifying that I was turning up a song on Youtube: 3 Days Grace's "Break." Did not realize that by double-typing each symbol I was writing pseudo-code for Blogger.

I started off listening to the Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz," on your page, which then segued into "Fox On The Run" followed by "Oxygen." Pilot swooped in with "Magic," and Il Divo finished with "Regresa a mi."

Naturally, I had to go to 3 Days Grace and my other playlist while I did that South Park avatar builder :)

My music, like me, is all over the place.

Dave:
Actually I had just assumed that the <> was some sort of text-based emoticon... as I am not familiar with most of them.

"My music, like me, is all over the place." No... that can't be. I never would have thought. I am finding that I am definitely not as strange as I once thought.

I'm curious to see your South Park Avatar... pop me an email with the image attached IF you are ok with me posting it on my blog. After I had done mine, I created avatars for a couple commenters (whose blogs I had read), which can be seen on my post called "Wisconsin Death Trip".
