Just curious...

I'm not on Facebook. Not a fan of Facebook. I have written that a couple times in the past here. I am however curious about something...  Is it possible to meet someone intriguing and interesting on Facebook? Or... is this more likely to occur on a Blog?

And no... I'm not going to do any research to answer my question. Just throwing it out there into the void.

I have found FB more useful for connecting with people you already know therefore my answer would be I have met far more interesting and intriguing folks blogging then on FB.

I agree with thormoo ~ FB is for meeting up with people you have met or know through someone else. Bloggers appear to be much more intimate about thoughts and spend way more time sharing ideas. FB is a quick way to stay connected. FB works well for my busines as it brings new people into the shop especially when I mention I have a new product line.

Ah... I was a little too vague on this post. I am familiar with the benefit of the medium in staying connected with people you already know... friends and family, and those in one's social circle, as well as keeping current with present and potential customers for a business. I wasn't really expecting any response, and I already had my own answer to the basic question, which you both have concurred with. The root of the question has more to do with the breakdown of personal communication stemming from the superficial aspect of increased social connectivity. Just food for thought.

Been teaching ag, english, and computer skills at the local high school. It can be a tuckering event. Moo.

Did you just call me a cow?

Good to hear about the job. "ag" would be "alg"?

DaveO said...

No, I did not call you a cow. It may be my accent. I said "Canaaay-diennne." Not to be confused with "Scottish."

"Ag" would be "agriculture." I substitute teach that, computer skills, and English.

And I bet you though all I knew about ag was BBQ... :P Heh!

Sure... moo... Which reminded me that I so very much wanted to bark back at some youngun who basically put you or your military career down (you didn't respond), in addition to calling all civilians sheep in one of his holier than thou comments at TAH a while back. Only problem is that all I could think of was "Hey... I'm the sheep in the back saying "moo"."

If a rascal exhibits an ability to process information, and respond, I'll have fun with him or her. Otherwise, there's plenty of folks over there willing to curb stomp the curs.

Generally, it just 2 or 3 people who are belong to the professional trolletariat: they are paid for their a$$-clownery.

Moo... sheep... too funny! Read recently that the sheep concept came from a book written about a 100 years ago that describe mass psychology and behaviour.

I don't go for the sheep analog - sheep can be feisty creatures. Rams with horns, but also ewes will aggressively butt their head against someone or thing.

Acquaintence had his flock take advantage of a downed fence during a storm. Figured they'd headed down toward what we call a river (other places would call it a rivulet). Found a lot of predator tracks: mountain lion and coyote. Thought they'd feasted on the ewes, but they were in fact safe and sound, if with bloody polls/ foretops (forehead on hoomin).

Stupid people who huddle in their masses aren't sheep, but lemmings.

Ah... nope... it was a fairly new twenty-something who worked Civil Affairs and was/is all full of himself. Not a troll and not likely to get curb-stomped because of the fact that his views match.

I had read a rather lengthy excerpt of the sheep analogy somewhere about a year ago, but do not know from whence it came.

Interesting about the escaped sheep. Yes... even sheep have survival instincts.
